For over 35 years the Montessori Learning Center has provided a warm, positive and stimulating educational community in which each child feels secure, respected and supported.

Our Philosophy

Our school nurtures and guides children from ages 2 ½ to 12 years. Our belief is that every bright mind deserves a challenge. We provide the challenge through a commitment to a quality education in a positive and stimulating learning environment.

Our programs focus on creating a life-long love of learning while teaching independence and a respect for one's self and others. We strive to help our students build a strong foundation for life by meeting the needs of the child through our curriculum.

School History

Established in 1973 as a co-educational independent private school, the Montessori Learning Center follows the educational philosophy and methods developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, a pioneering physician and educator. Our curriculum encompasses the following areas: Mathematics, Science, Literature, Language, History/Social Studies, Foreign Language, the Arts, and Music.

The Montessori Learning Center is currently located on two campuses in the Salinas area. Our primary school is housed at our original school site. The primary is comprised of three classrooms and serves children ages 2 ½ through 5 years in preschool and kindergarten programs. Our second campus houses our two lower elementary classes, one upper elementary class, and the middle school class.
